Underground Comics

Atlanta Hippies loved Underground Comics! Mr. Natural was Keepin’ on Truckin’ everywhere. The Celestial Omnibus sported Mr. Natural. Atlanta also had its own underground comics. Here are the few I have. Anyone have more to share?

  1. Hi, Patrick! I’m curious, do you happen to know any of the artists’ names who were involved with that Catfish Super Delux Comix? I’m conducting some research for a reference guide to underground comic books, so any information would be appreciated.

  2. Victtor – My birth name is Carl Carlyle Spann. during my years as an underground comic artist I just used my first and last name. My foto-comic ‘SuperJesus’ circulated along with other underground comics until the Supreme Court banned their being sold in 1976.
Last year I ran across a request to find me by someone like you doing research on underground comics from that era. Was that you? – Carl C. Spann

    1. Hi, Carl! Wow, yeah, I’ve been trying to find you for a long time now. I’ve been desperately trying to find a copy of your mini, Inferior Funnies. I’ve never seen one for sale and can’t figure out why it’s so rare. If you have a copy, I’d be happy to buy one from you!
